At CTA Pathology, our providers maintain a deep interest in the continually-evolving fields of dermatology and dermatopathology. Born out of personal and professional curiosity, the following lectures and publications are our pathologists' endeavor to make meaningful, lasting contributions to medical research and education.

In 2021, our dermatopathologists collaborated to present lectures on the 11th Edition of Lever’s Histopathology of the Skin. These lectures are available to anyone interested in learning more about the role histopathology plays in diagnosing skin diseases

CTA Pathology’s medical director, Dr. Curtis Thompson, has consistently contributed to the academic literature on dermatopathology for over 30 years. The publications listed here highlight his work on general skin conditions as well as his specialty focuses of nail disorders and alopecia.

In this lecture hosted by Euroimmun, Drs. Phoebe Rich and Curtis Thompson explain how PCR testing can be used to diagnose dermatomycosis and nail fungal infections, effectively demonstrating the utility of this fast, reliable testing method.
