Patient FAQs

Why did I receive a bill from CTA Pathology?

CTA Pathology works with dermatologists and other primary care providers to process skin, hair, and nail biopsies. If you are receiving a bill from us, your provider sent us a specimen and requested we work with them to diagnose the tissue.

Will CTA Pathology accept my insurance?

CTA Pathology is in-network with most insurances and can attempt to bill your insurance even if we are out-of-network. Depending on your benefits and accumulations, you may still receive a bill from us even if your plan is in-network. We are generally considered in-network with the following plans:

Oregon: AARP, Aetna, Atrio, Cigna, GEHA, Healthnet, Humana, Medicare, Moda, Multiplan, Oregon Health Plan, PacificSource, Providence, Regence BlueCross/Blue Shield, TriCare, TriWest, UMR, United Healthcare.

Colorado: AARP, Aetna, Anthem BlueCross/BlueShield, Beech Street, Cigna, Clear Spring Health, Cofinity, Colorado Access, Coventry First Health, GEHA, Humana, Medicaid, Medicare, Multiplan, Oscar Health, Private Health Care Systems (PHCS), Rocky Mountain Health Care, TriCare, TriWest, UMR, United Healthcare.

Michigan: AARP, Aetna, BlueCare Network, BlueCross/BlueShield of Michigan, Cigna, GEHA, Health Alliance Plan of Michigan, HealthNet, Humana, JVHL, Medicare, Multiplan, Priority Health, TriCare, UMR, United Healthcare.

How much will my bill be?

The final cost of your bill is dependent on your insurance plan, so we recommend reaching out to your insurance directly for more detailed questions about how they will process the claim. In general, bills from CTA Pathology are typically under $250, but they can be substantially higher depending on the testing requested by the provider.
