Why did I receive a bill from
CTA Pathology?
CTA Pathology's dermatopathologists provide their services to diagnose skin, hair, and/or nail lesions. This service was done at the request of a medical professional you recently visited, listed on your bill as "Referring Physician". Our board-certified dermatopathologists work with Referring Physicians to help accurately and timely diagnose medical conditions in order to provide you with the highest level of patient care.
How can I pay my bill?
You can pay your bill either online, over for the phone by calling (503) 906-7300, or by check made payable to CTA Pathology and sent to PO Box 230457, Portland, Oregon, 97281.
How much will my bill be?
The charges from CTA will typically fall between $100 and $250 per specimen. The charges cover the tissue preparation, examination and dermatopathologist fee required to render a diagnosis. Depending on the diagnosis, it is possible that the tissue examination may require additional staining /testing that could be substantially higher than $250.00
Does CTA accept my insurance?
CTA is a participating provider with most insurance companies. If CTA is not a participating provider with your insurance, CTA will send you a billing statement for any portion applied to your out-of-network deductible and/or coinsurance and you will be financially responsible.
Will CTA Provide me a discount if I don’t have insurance?
CTA offers reduced rate for uninsured and underinsured patients.

Is the Invoice Number
the same as my
Account Number?
YES! Our online bill pay system asks for an "Invoice #" which is the "Account #" listed on your bill.
